Define the requirement
Clarify consumption, reporting needs, budget and appetite for commitment.
Renewable energy claims, tariff structures and certificates can vary between suppliers. We help businesses ask the right questions and compare the commercial terms alongside the environmental proposition.
Suitability depends on your usage, site, existing contract and objectives. We can also help identify when a specialist assessment is needed for on-site technology.

Green energy procurement
Renewable supply claims, certificates and contract structures are not all the same. A credible review considers the environmental evidence alongside price and terms.
Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin, commonly called REGOs, are used in Great Britain to evidence the source of renewable electricity for fuel-mix disclosure. A green tariff may use certificate matching, but the sourcing method and level of additionality can differ between suppliers and products.
We help businesses ask how a proposition is evidenced, whether certificates are retired for the relevant consumption and what reporting information is available. Electricity still arrives through the shared network rather than travelling directly from a named generator to the premises.
A renewable supply contract is different from installing solar panels, battery storage or private-wire generation. On-site projects require a technical and financial assessment covering the building, connection, consumption profile, permissions and expected operating life.
Power purchase agreements and named-source products may provide a closer relationship with generation, but they introduce different commitments and risks. We can help define the procurement requirement and identify where an independent technical specialist is needed.
Organisations may need renewable energy evidence for internal targets, customer requirements or carbon reporting. The contract period, certificate year and consumption data should be aligned so that environmental statements can be supported by the documentation actually supplied.
Commercial terms still matter. Contract length, unit rates, standing charges, volume assumptions and supplier service should be reviewed alongside renewable credentials, with no claim that one product is automatically suitable for every business.
Questions and answers
It is a commercial supply product supported by the supplier's stated renewable sourcing and certification arrangements. The detail varies by tariff.
Energy Geeks focuses on energy advice and procurement. Where appropriate, we can help identify when a specialist technical assessment is required.
A Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin is an Ofgem-administered certificate used to evidence renewable electricity generation for fuel-mix disclosure in Great Britain.
No. A tariff is an electricity supply contract; solar is an on-site generation project requiring a separate technical and financial assessment.
Potentially. Available products differ, so the renewable evidence, pricing structure, contract term and other costs should be reviewed together.
